NEW manager Steve Evans yesterday had his first meeting with the Rotherham United players and staff.

Evans, accompanied by club chairman Tony Stewart, outlined his plans and what he expects from everyone in the new Millers era under him.

After watching Rotherham’s 1-0 win over Cheltenham, the former Crawley boss dined with Stewart on Monday night as they plotted the way ahead for the club.

Evans had with him Paul Raynor who was his assistant at Crawley and is set to be his No 2 at Rotherham.

He said he knew the Rotherham squad ‘inside out’, was aware of strengths and weaknesses and would know more when he’d worked with them.

Meanwhile, after season-ticket sales to current holders topped 2,000, they are now going on general sale, with fans asked to book places on 08443 240689 for the Riverside House presentation events to choose their seats.
