NEW manager Steve Evans has likened what he has found at Rotherham United to a Ferrari.
“It’s a Championship club in League Two; there is an outstanding chairman who is willing to back and invest and have a right, proper go and there is a magnificent new stadium that is first class,” said Evans.
“I thought that this is a Ferrari, it’s started up and ready to be driven and I’m happy to jump in alongside the chairman and get set off.”
Chairman Tony Stewart says he will give Evans full backing and whilst The Championship becomes a goal, he says he would love Evans to take them right to the top.
“I’ve come here to win games, for this club to be be successful and if the chairman sacks me because I’m not winning games then I’ll accept that - but I’ve come here to be successful,” said Evans.
“It is a huge challenge but with all that’s going on, this club is ready to take off and we’ll demand high standards of the players.”
