The left foot of Ben Pringle is looked upon by David Worrall with envy but it also seems familiar to the new Rotherham United player.
Worrall, who recently joined the club from Bury, had previously been on the books at West Bromwich Albion where he trained alongside ex-Sheffield Wednesday midfielder and Northern Ireland international Chris Brunt.
The magic conjured up with ease by their left pegs are similar, says the midfielder.
“I think it was the fourth training session when I pulled Daniel Nardiello over and said that I wished I had a left foot like him,” said Worrall, after watching Pringle set up two goals in Rotherham’s 2-1 win over Bolton Wanderers.
“He reminds me a lot of Chris Brunt; his left foot’s unbelievable but he just doesn’t seem to put any effort into it and there’s so much power too. I’ve been grabbing him and saying ‘come on, show me how you do it!’”
Worrall’s set role in the team is a lot less glamorous but his graft will be appreciated and could compliment Pringle’s craft.
Manchester-born Worrall also spent last season in League One and is anticipating a promising start after studying Rotherham’s first round of fixtures.
“Most of them (teammates) have played in this league or higher, so we all know what to expect,” he said. “I think if we get a good start you never know what could happen.”
Claude Davis is expected to shake off a minor knock and be passed fit to face Huddersfield on Saturday.
