Every member of Rovers’ squad has a blank slate to work from according to boss Paul Dickov.
The majority of next season’s squad will contain players Dickov has opted to either keep or bring in.
But he insists the small group of currently contracted players will have the opportunity to force their way into the team.
And he also confirmed he is not looking to offload any players at the current time.
“The focus has to be on the players that are here,” Dickov told the Star.
“There’s a lot of hard working going on behind the scenes to bring players in but those that are already here are in pole position.
“That can change throughout pre-season but those lads can impress me and possibly stop me going out and getting someone new. There’s competition for places and it’s strong competition all over.
“Every player here has a future at the club.
“They have to show me they want to stay and the only way they can do that is by performing well in training and in games.
“In every training session and game they have a point to prove and even more so with a new manager coming in.
“Everyone will get a fair crack of the whip.”
James Harper, James Coppinger, Rob Jones, Jamie McCombe, David Cotterill, Billy Paynter and James Husband all remain under contract.
