Sheffield United winger Jamal Campbell-Ryce is scheduled to undergo a late fitness test before today’s League One derby against Chesterfield.
Campbell-Ryce has missed the visitors’ last four games after being diagnosed with a calf problem following their victory over Rochdale but could return for the meeting with Paul Cook’s side.
Nigel Clough, the United manager, said: “Jamal has got a good chance but, as always, we won’t take any risks. What we don’t want, and the same goes for anyone else with an injury, is for them to put the hard work in and then find themselves out for another four or five weeks.”
James Wallace and Stefan Scougall are both set to feature after recovering from groin and knee problems respectively while Paddy McCarthy is scheduled to make his United debut after signing on loan from Crystal Palace.
Clough added: “With James and Stefan coming back and Jamal being in such good form before his knock, we’ve got some good players there.”
