SHEFFIELD Wednesday boss Dave Jones vowed that the Owls will get it right and stem the flow of goals that they have been conceding.
Jones feels that Wednesday - in their 3-0 defeat at Brighton - fell “between two stools.” He said: “We encouraged our players to play the ball out but there are times when you should just clear your lines. We are trying to do things in a certain way at this level but Brighton probably have been doing it a lot longer than we have.”
Jones also felt that the free kick decision that led to the opener was “a little harsh” but he added: “We will get it right. But one or two need to come down to earth a bit after the good start we had and start performing to their capabilities.
“When you look at the goals we gave away they are goals we can stop.”
Brighton manager Gus Poyet offered Owls a crumb of comfort, saying: “I think they will do well. People will read the result and think it was easy. It was not easy.
“We had to defend crosses. We have knocks, pains and muscle aches. It was very tough.”
