The 22-year-old striker has joined on a two-year deal from the National League side and Heckingbottom sees a bright future for the former Swindon man.

“He has pace to burn, likes to get at defenders and will fit in nicely to the way we play,” he said. “He has brilliant potential and we’re excited to have him on board.”

Jackson, who is now officially the club’s fastest player following a speed test in his medical examination, added: “As soon as I spoke to the gaffer and Ben (Mansford, Chief Executive) here and saw the plan they have for the club and the way they wanted to go forward, I thought it matched me perfectly.

“I admire the way they play. It’s very rare you see in this day and age two attacking wingers and two attacking strikers.

“I like to get at defenders and not give them a minute’s peace and I like to be scoring goals.”
