NEWLY promoted Chesterfield edged another point closer to the League Two title with a goalless draw at mid-table Oxford United, writes Graham Walker.
It leaves them five points clear of second place Bury - who they play at home on Monday.
Victory against their title rivals will crown Chesterfield league champions.
Oxford United had the better chances today and striker Alfie Potter saw two second-half efforts saved by Spireites keeper Tommy Lee.
Visiting captain Dwayne Mattis also made two supurb blocks to ensure his side kept a clean sheet.
