Goals will be harder to find

SHEFFIELD Wednesday helped themselves to four goals against Oldham on Monday but they will find it tougher to break through against Derby and indeed the Owls have failed to score past the Rams in the last four attempts.

They’re 2/5 with Ladbrokes to put that right by finding the net today at Pride Park, where Chris O’Grady is 15/2 via Stan James to follow up his Boundary Park with the opener in this encounter.

The Wednesday front man is 5/2 (Skybet) to notch at any stage in a fixture that is evens at bet365 to produce three or more goals while BetVictor post 11/1 against an opener from Nejc Pecnik and Stan James price Chris Maguire at 7/1 to notch first.

Like the Owls, Barnsley also struck four times in the first round of the Capital One Cup, albeit after extra-time, and one of the men on target, Craig Davies, is chalked up by bet365 at 13/2 to follow that goal up with the first as the Tykes entertain Middlesbrough.

At Bramall Lane, new boys Nick Blackman and John Cofie are 6/1 and 5/1 with bet365 and William Hill respectively to put Sheffield United 1-0 up against Shrewsbury and BetVictor quote odds of 9/10 for both teams to find the net. Also in League One, Doncaster’s Chris Brown can be backed at 6/1 to open the scoring as Rovers head to Walsall and Stan James make it 11/10 for the two sides to come up with at least three goals.

Rotherham’s summer capture Kieran Agard is 7/1 via BetVictor to ostrike first in the contest against Burton Albion in League Two and Skybet mark 6/1 against a deadlock-breaking Craig Westcarr goal as Chesterfield head to Wimbledon.
