Goodison wants that top of world feeling
OLYMPIC sailing champion Paul Goodison has just added another gold medal to his burgeoning collection but there's one space in his cabinet he's desperate to fill.
The Sheffield-born 31-year-old who gained Olympic glory in Beijing, took Great Britain's only gold from five medals at the penultimate leg of the ISAF Sailing World Cup series in Kiel, Germany.
He's also a double European champion but he doesn't have a World Championship winners' medal and the South Yorkshire ace is determined to put that right in August in Canada.
"I've medalled at the European Championships four times on the trot - gold at the last two - but never at the World Championships," said Goodison. "I would love to win both regattas this year but the Worlds are the one I really want to capture - I'm determined to get it."
To get an idea of the water and conditions, Goodison is to take part in a 10-day training camp in Nova Scotia.
