Steve Goertzen is confident his shoulder injury is on the mend.
The Sheffield Steelers forward had a miserable end to the last campaign.
He explained: I had shoulder surgery on July 4 from an injury that happened in February, when I missed three weeks. It wasn’t any better when I came back to finish the season.
“But rehabilitation is going good.”
Steelers set off for their gruelling three matches-in-three nights tour of Slovakia and Hungary tomorrow.
It is not yet clear whether American centreman Rylan Galiardi will join them. There are some hurdles to overcome with his visa. If he misses the plane, it is expected he will fly direct to Krakow from the States on Friday.
The team drive from Krakow to Košice, where they will play Friday. They will then go by bus to Budapest.
Their first League game is a week on Saturday at Coventry Blaze.
