sheffield Hallam’s second team restart their North League campaign this week with a trip to bottom club Stockton.

Promotion from division one for Hallam is now unlikely, however.

Hallam’s third team’s bid to defend their Yorkshire Premier League title were dealt a major blow with a 2-1 loss away at Ben Rhydding.

Nick Sims put Hallam ahead, but two goals in the final 15 mins gave Ben Rhydding the points.

Team: Adursh Ruperalia, Ray Wright, Adam Farley, Mark Beavis (capt), Connor Jameson, Phil Butler, Russ Martin, Jim Tasker, Pat Allerton, Craig Hilton, Rob Ward, Nick Sims, James Harrison, Ben Hyatt.

Hallam’s fourths lost 4-3 to Grimsby, with a Chris Battison double and a strike from Will Lacey.

The fifth team lost 4-0 to Tadcaster Magnets, leaving them in the danger zone. This week they play Leeds at Abbeydale Park.

Hallam’s sixth team had a mixed weekend, battering Leeds Adel Carnegie 4-1 on Saturday before finding themselves on the wrong end of a 6-1 drubbing from Slazengers on Sunday.

This week, lower-end team Leeds visit Abbeydale Park.

The sevenths lost 5-3 against Garforth, and the eights kept up their 100 per cent record with a 4-1 victory over Kingston-upon-Hull.

Hallam stayed second in the Development League, although a title challenge is unlikely with Worksop currently six points clear.

In the Development League, clubs are allowed to play whenever they like - yet Hallam only have a game every two weeks, so the chances of overtaking Worksop appear slim at best.

Hallam will have the chance to strike a psychological blow at least, when the two sides meet on January 19.

Hallam’s firsts lost the chance of progressing to the Maxifuel Super Sixes Division 2 weekend.
