Hallam seal fourth spot

Double-header delight and a double hat-trick for Sheffield Hallam Ladies as they went on a 15-goal rampage.

They beat Harrogate 5-2 and followed up with a 10-1 thrashing of already relegated Nelson.

Sophie Elsworth and Kath Hughes both plundered doubles in the Harrogate clash and Caroline Barclay was the other scorer.

Barclay trebled her account against Nelson and Emma Fearnley was the other hat-trick star in the double-figure romp. Two each from Alex Busk-Wood and one each from Sophie Elsworth and Nicola Cox completed the scoreline.

It will be a very different scenario for Hallam on Saturday when they travel to North Premier Division leaders Liverpool Sefton who are involved in a promotion cliff-hanger with Ben Rhydding. Sefton are top on 53 points with one game to play while Ben Rhydding have 51 points, with two games remaining.

Hallam play the final match of the season against Ben Rhydding at Abbeydale on Sunday week. Regardless of how the matches go, Hallam will finish fourth.
