Hat-trick star boosts Hallam

Emma Fearnley was the star of the show as Sheffield Hallam Ladies returned to winning ways.

She scored a hat-trick of open play goals in the 4-0 victory over Harrogate with Sophie Elsworth the other scorer.

They visit draw specialists Kendal on Saturday. Kendal have marked their debut season in the division with six draws, one of them at Abbeydale back in October but they’ve lost only three.

The second team came through 2-1 against Kingston-upon-Hull to move to eighth in the Yorkshire Premier Division and clear of the relegation zone.

At last, the Thirds gained their first win of the season as an Emily Price double helped them to a 3-2 victory at Selby. Helen Burlend was also on target as Hallam moved off the bottom of Division One although they’re still four points adrift of safety.

However, there was no joy for the Fourths who are still looking for their first win as they crashed 7-0 at table-topping Kingston-upon-Hull 3.
