Yorkshire and Derbyshire League Division One leaders Holmesfield kept their grip on top spot with a comfortable win over Stocksbridge.

Holmesfield scored 207-9, and then restricted their opponents to 89-9.

Immediately below the top are Sheffield University Staff and Hollinsend, who met at the weekend.

Staff made 176 all out, then in the gathering gloom, with the rain threatening and both overs and wickets running out, Hollinsend Meths scraped to a win by two wickets.

De La Salle’s batters were again prolific, hitting 234-7. In reply Sheffield Centralians responded well, closing at 212-8.

Apperknowle were 118 all out , and Parkhead eased to the win by nine wickets.

Down at the foot of the table, Grindleford finally broke their duck, winning their first ever game in the top flight by successfully chasing down Hundall’s 206-4 to win by four wickets.

In Division Two, surprise leaders Ashford in the Water continued their excellent run of form with victory at Hathersage.

Despite only mustering 134 all out, they sent back promotion hopefuls Hathersage for just 73.

Parkhead II, marooned at the foot of the table, totalled 164-8, and Sheffield Civil Service cruised to victory by eight wickets to stay second.

In a remarkable game at HSBC, home team Weston Park smashed 283-2.

Unfazed, Calver went after the bowling, closing at 227-8 - in a game reduced from 46 to 35 overs a side.
