Hallam’s firsts had their game with Wigton abandoned after the visitors failed to travel - but they still enjoyed a good weekend, after Kendal’s defeat to Timperley.
Hallam now trail their rivals by just three points, and the two sides meet in March at Abbeydale Park.
This Saturday Hallam travel to play City of York at York University (3pm start).
Hallam’s seconds beat Leeds 7-2, thanks to four goals from Vicky Hammond, and the fourths beat Sheffield University Bankers 5-1, with Jemima Board again scoring three times.
It could be more good news this week as they play another team that are below them in the Division Six league table.
They entertain University of Leeds 7, at Leeds University’s Weetwood ground.
Sheffield Hallam are targeting third place in the Yorkshire Premier Division, as there is a possibility that the top three could be promoted to the North Division 2SE this season.
Currently, Hallam’s seconds are seven points behind Wakefield with game in hand, so need to win their remaining matches and hope that Wakefield slip up in at least one of their games.
The women’s third team’s renaissance was put on hold for a week as their clash against Bridlington was called off due to a frozen pitch last Saturday.
This week they play Division Two’s top team, Sheffield University Bankers, at Abbeydale Park this Saturday (Start time 10.15am).
