It’s not all doom and gloom at Sheffield Steelers, despite a frustrating lack of consistency in the results.
Jeff Legue is expected to ring up his 500th EIHL point against either Hull tomorrow (away) or at home to Fife on Sunday.
Team-mate Jono Phillips said: “It’s an incredible achievement. He has great awareness, stunning speed and an eye for goal that few can match. Come the big moments he is there and he delivers.”
Phillips added: “His shot is fast, accurate and most of all it’s the speed of the release. On the power-play everyone knows we favour him, every team knows that at one point it’s coming to him for the one timer and yet there is little they can do about it because in a blink of an eye it’s behind you.
“It’s been a privilege to play alongside him. He has played under several coaches, with different linemates and yet the results are the same, he scores, he contributes and he delivers like no other at this club in the Elite League era.
“The fans love him, his team mates love him and long may it continue. It would be nice if he was 500 and a few after the weekend.. no pressure though!”
