Local clubs, teams and charities can raise thousands of pounds thanks to a project run by Owlerton Stadium.

The FundRacer scheme gives groups the chance to apply for a minimum of 20 free tickets for Yorkshire’s Premier race track, in Hillsborough.

The free tickets, which are worth £9.60 each and include a free drink and racecard, can be sold on for a recommended £5 each. Clubs and organisations get to keep all money generated through ticket sales.

FundRacer is the new sponsor of the 2015/16 Sheffield and Hallamshire County FA Sunday Senior Cup.

Dave Perry, general manager of Owlerton Greyhound Stadium, said: “Each year, our FundRacer project raises thousands of pounds for local clubs, groups, teams and charities which can be used to pay for kit, equipment, events or travel.

“The scheme uses a simple format which allows clubs and organisations to apply for free tickets, which can they can sell and retain every pound they raise. They are also guaranteed a great night out at the dogs!”

To raise even more money, groups can also have a competition, sponsored race, sell restaurant tickets or hold an exclusive fundraising evening at the stadium.

Upcoming FundRacer dates available include Tuesday 12 and Friday 22 January.
