Sheffield Bankers were forced to settle for a 5-5 draw against Chester last weekend, despite leading 5-3 with just seven minutes left.
Owen Davies scored twice, with further strikes from Jimmy Osborne, Matt Kettley and Aussie ace Chuck Inglis.
“By all accounts, we didn’t deserve to win,” said chairman Bob Hindle.
“So the point will be gratefully received in this instance.”
Bankers’ seconds were left wondering how they lost against Stockton, eventually going down 4-3.
Stockton found themselves 3-0 ahead after three minutes, but Bankers hit back with a double from Viv Ballachander, and a strike from Chris Downham.
Sheffield Hallam men, meanwhile, restart their Now:Pensions Mens Hockey League Premier Division campaign on February 9, with a trip to Hampsted & Westminster.
