Rotherham Titans, who say they are being welcomed “with open arms” for next week’s TV game at Abbeydale, have quashed fears there could be damage to the cricket outfield.
A recent TV game at Clifton Lane left damage on the adjacent outfield caused by tracking laid to accommodate TV trucks and there were fears of damage at Abbeydale where the rugby pitch links with the outfield used by Sheffield Collegiate. Titans chief John Lewis said: “We can end any fears because trucks can be accommodated on Abbeydale’s hard standing areas, not the outfield. Floodlights won’t be required. The Clifton Lane damage has been repaired.”
