Four pupils from Mount St Mary’s College have qualified for the British Youth Fencing Finals.
They booked their place at the prestigious event, which takes place at the English Institute of Sport Sheffield from April 30-May 1, after success at the Yorkshire Youth Championships.
Joshua Li won silver and Amer Qaiyum took bronze in the Boys Under 18 Sabre while Isobel Mulkern bagged bronze in the Girls Under-16 Foil. Patrick Shaw finished fifth out of 29 competitors in the Boys Under-12 Foil to secure a place at the British Finals.
Fifteen pupils from the college took part in the championships with a total of 126 students competing overall from across the UK in categories including Epee, Foil and Sabre.
