A RECORD 220 junior tennis players from across England are set to compete in the Sheffield Junior Open.
The Graves Tennis and Leisure Centre tournament runs from Monday to a week today.
It follows the success of the AEGON Team Tennis Schools National Championships Finals 2012 also held at Graves in July.
Katie Higson, tennis manager at Graves, said: “With a record number of entries this is set to be a fantastic week of tennis competition.
“The sport is taking off in Sheffield. We’ve got a superb development programme in place and the Olympics and Wimbledon have really helped to boost the profile of tennis and inspire even more people to pick up a racket at Graves.”
