Menzie Yere was again the star of the show for the Eagles as they overcame an early deficit to record a handsome victory over Batley Bulldogs.
The Papua New Guinea centre, who notched a four-try haul at Hunslet last week, grabbed a hat trick for Mark Aston’s men as they strengthened their grip on third place.
Defending the infamous slope in the first half, the visitors found themselves behind when Scott Leatherbarrow’s timely offload saw Lee Mitchell bulldoze his way to the line from short range.
The home side extended their lead when Shaun Ainscough made something out of nothing to burrow his way to the line evading a number of Eagles defenders.
On the half-hour mark, Leatherbarrow added two extras as John Davies was penalised for nudging over Ainscough illegally.
With half time approaching, the Eagles grabbed a foothold in the clash when good work from Kyle Briggs paved the way for Yere to scamper home from point blank range.
The duo combined to great effect minutes later when Briggs sent Yere through to leave the Eagles trailing by two points at half time.
The Eagles were quick out of the blocks in the second half and they took the lead when good hands involving Brambani and Quentin Laulu-Togagae saw the home side short of cover and Sam Smeaton ghosted to the line.
Aston’s men were sniffing blood and quick thinking from Laulu-Togagae at dummy half saw Davies sneak in on the blindside to give the visitors a ten point lead as Briggs converted.
Moments later, Yere took advantage of some half-hearted tackling to rampage home for his hat-trick score before Laulu-Togagae rubbed salt into home wounds when he waltzed under the sticks following good work by Brambani.
It was fitting that the Eagles had the final say when Misi Taulapapa galloped home their seventh try.
