TWO of Sheffield Eagles key players hooker Andrew Henderson and prop forward Liam Higgins have agreed new contracts.
The pair have played almost every game this season and are the first of the out-of-contract players to agree new deals for 2013.
Coach Mark Aston said: “They’ve made a big contribution this season and will help us keep going forward.”
It is a big boost for the Eagles going into the top-of-the table clash at Halifax tomorrow, kick-off 3pm.
Aston added: “Quite a lot of the squad still have at least a year left on their contracts but I’m talking to others and hope to get things settled quickly.”
Doncaster-born Higgins, 29, is staying on a two-year contract. He first joined the Eagles at the start of last season after spells at Hull FC and Castleford. Henderson has signed a new one-year deal.
