Sharks out to bring down Jets

Sheffield Sharks will be hoping to kick-start their season tomorrow night when they play their first match of 2012 at the English Institute of Sport against Cheshire Jets.

After a 72-64 loss at Glasgow Rocks on December 30 the Sharks appear to be out of the BBL Championship race with five defeats to their name already.

They were without point-guard Jimmy Langhurst, who is having his temporary working visa changed to a more permanent arrangement.

However it means the on form Langhurst will also miss the Jets match but is expected to return for the Guildford Heat game on January 13.

Sharks were stretched to limit in their defeat at the Rocks. Already one player short on their roster they also had the absence of Langhurst and Justin Dobbins suffering with flu to contend with.

It hasn’t been the best of times for player-coach Atiba Lyons. He will return from America today after attending the funeral of his grandma who passed away just before Christmas.
