Belfast Giants may end up with a coach with Sheffield connections - after Doug Christiansen made the reverse journey.
The Irish are understood to have spoken to one former Sheffield forward this week. And there are rumours they have also considered approaching last season Steelers assistant coach Ashley Tait.
The GB regular has previously said he’d consider a coaching job when the time was right. His position at Sheffield is clouded by the possibility of another expensive Brit, Rob Dowd, returning.
Meanwhile, as The Star predicted on April 10, Ryan Finnerty has become coach at Braehead Clan on a two-year deal. Finnerty said: “Glasgow is a gritty city with a hard edge reputation. The team has lacked some grit at times. I like no nonsense hockey teams. It’s a style fans relate to.”
