Sheffield side takes on Birmingham


City of Sheffield compete in the second round of the British League at Birmingham tomorrow.

Their strongest event is pole vault where UK number one Luke Cutts, along with Adam Hague, should ensure maximum points. On the track the 400m is a strong event for Sheffield with Grant Plenderleith and Tim Burn a powerful pairing.

Steve Evison should score well for Sheffield in the 800m and is also listed in the steeplechase along with Yorkshire champion Howard Wood.

Carl Hardman should do well in the 5000m. Decathlete Liam Ramsay does the 110 hurdles and javelin partnered by Deo Milandu who also does the long jump. Steve Garrett and Tom Grantham form a solid pairing in the 400 hurdles.

Jamie Williamson should do well in the shot and discus, supported by Gareth Winter and Mark Plowman.
