DAVE Jones is poised to contest the charge of misconduct levelled at him by the FA.

The Owls manager and Brighton coach Charlie Oatway have both been charged after being sent off at Hillsborough last Saturday because of a flare-up on the touchline.

But it is understood that Jones will dispute the allegation.

He and Oatway have both been given until 4pm on Friday to respond to the charge.

The FA say that “the charges, both for improper conduct, are in relation to an incident which occurred during the game.”

If the pair are found guilty, then they could face a fine or a touchline ban.

It is normal procedure for someone to be given a deadline for a response after being charge by the FA.

The person can admit or deny the charge, and ask for a personal hearing or appeal in writing, as Sir Alex Ferguson did after being accused of implying that a match official was biased.

Wednesday should also find out this week the verdict on Reda Johnson, who has had specialist attention on an ankle problem.

The Owls will be hoping that Rhys McCabe comes through a Scotland Under-21 trip unscathed: he is in the squad for a friendly in Korinthos, Greece, today - a warm-up for European qualifiers.Meanwhile, Owls youngster Cecil Nyoni has quit football. The 20-year-old defender or midfielder said on Twitter: “Lost the love of the game and thanks to everyone who helped me along the way.”
