Steelers’ skipper Steve Goertzen may return to action a week tonight.
The concussion victim has been on the ice this week, but is unlikely to be risked against Edinburgh Capitals, tonight, or Hull Stingrays (home) tomorrow.
Goertzen said: “I’m feeling better every day. The medical staff said it was ok to skate with the team. I felt ok and haven’t suffered any further headaches.
“I’d like to think I will be ready for this weekend but I’m guessing it will be next weekend for me and perhaps the Coventry Blaze game as a target.
“With the play offs coming up I’d like to have a couple of games behind me entering that series.”
Hull coach Sylvain Cloutier believes his side can pull off another shock against Steelers, having beaten them 5-1 last Saturday. “Sheffield are a very good hockey team. Gerad Adams has come in and given them a fresh boost.
“They outplayed us in the third period last week so we are going to have to be ready for them and keep things simple. Hopefully we can sneak something.”
