Sheffield Steelers’ explosive first line will be looking to add to their goal-scoring reputation tonight, at the Arena.
Michael Forney, Mathieu Roy and Colton Fretter have proved to be a potent combination for the defending Play-off champions, who unveil their winning banner this evening.
“I feel that when we are playing our best it’s tough to stop us,” said Forney, who played for Villacher SV in Austria last year, among others, speaking on video at thestar.co.uk
“Hopefully we can continue it this weekend.
“I played against Fretter last year (Klagenfurter AC) ...it’s nice having him on my line now, instead of playing against him!
Roy was a leading scorer at Florida Everblades, so it was more than useful to have him alongside too, he said.
Left-winger Roy, in fact, is leading scorer this term so far with two goals and seven assists in five games.
Forney isn’t far behind with 4+4 and Fretter has 3+2 - one less point than Cullen Eddy, the defenceman who always has an eye on the opposition zone.
Steelers tonight host Cardiff Devils, the team they beat 3-2 away on the opening day of their season.
Cardiff know where the net is too - they put seven past Belfast Giants in pre-season and six in Coventry’s net.
But they fell out of form last weekend, going down 3-2 to Edinburgh Capitals.
Concussed Pascal Morency may be out again tonight and tomorrow at Coventry.
