Former Steelers’ sniper Joey Talbot says the club has made a fine signing in Jay Latulippe - even though he battered him to the ice six years ago!
The one-time Sheffield forward (2006-11) was only 5ft 9ins tall and hardly the enforcer type.
But he dropped the gloves with Latulippe in a match against Cardiff Devils in December 2008.
Latulippe, a known hockey troublemaker, had been “sledging” Talbot throughout the match.
The retired Steelers goalscorer told The Star: “I do remember that fight, Jay was a player you hated to play against but would love to have on your team.
“I didn’t fight too much but he found a way to rattle me and get me off my game.
“But besides that he also can play.
“He has good hands and good hockey smarts so should be a good fit.”
