Stuart Gray is worried than the Owls could end up with NONE of their recognised centre halves being available.
He is down to one, Miguel Llera, with Adedeji Oshilaja ruled out of tonight’s match at Forest because of a thigh strain and among nine players who are injured.
But Llera - like forward Chris Maguire - has eight bookings and will be banned for two games if he gets two more during the next two matches, against Forest and at home to Blackburn on Saturday.
There is no sanction for reaching 10 cautions after the second Sunday in April.
Gray, with first-choice centre backs Oguchi Onyewu and Glenn Loovens joining the injured, said: “It’s amazing how it (the injury situation) just goes on, but I’ll get 11 out there who’ll have a right good go.
“We’re down to the bare bones. but it gives opportunities to others to shine. We’ve been working on the back four and hopefully it will come good for us at Forest.
“Miguel has been patient, He’s a top professional He’s looked after himself, kept himself fit. My only concern for Miguel is he’s on eight bookings, so if he gets booked in the next two games, he’s suspended!”
