Jose Semedo has compared Stuart Gray with Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho because of the way he inspires his players.
The experienced midfield player says that Gray’s man-management has been key to the club’s revival.
Semedo also rates the Wednesday chief as the best coach he has ever had and says Gray deserves even more credit than the players.
The Portuguese star knows that his countryman Mourinho - dubbed the Special One when he first arrived in England - has been credited by his players with making them feel important, and he says it is the same under Gray.
He explained: “I never worked under Mourinho, but when players were asked about Mourinho’s style, every player said everybody feels important.
“I think in that way Stuart does that for everyone here, I think that was the key; he knows about the game; he’s been around. For me, more than our players he’s the one driving us to where we are now.”
He also said: “We are more together. There is a good group spirit.
“It doesn’t matter if you are playing all the time or have been out all the time. He treats everybody the same, that is a big difference, for the results and the dressing room, because everybody feels part of this.
“In training he demands from those who play a lot, and he demands even more from those who don’t play a lot, that’s when everybody feels part of this family,
“He treats everybody the same, whether it’s Chris Kirkland, for me our best player and a guy with more experience, or young Caolan Lavery, for example, coming from the Under 21s.”
Semedo praises Gray’s coaching as well: “He knows about the game. No doubt about it. He is a top, top coach. The atmosphere on the training ground always helps everybody and his sessions are amazing. Everybody enjoys them.
“He is the best I have ever had. He knows about the training, he knows what to demand of players, he knows how to work with the players and talk with the players.
“The fact that he makes everybody feel the same. you know on Saturday anyone can play,.
“I think he’s the best the club can have. I believe the club can only get better with him.”
Glenn Loovens trained yesterday and it is hoped that he suffers no reaction and will be fit for tonight’s game against Wigan.
