It has not been a great month for Adam Duffy.

The Sheffield potter missed out on qualifying for the Indian Open after a comprehensive defeat to Noppon Saengkham.

And things did not get any better for Duffy, an avid Sheffield Wednesday fan, yesterday as he was knocked out of the Bluebell Wood Open at the Doncaster Dome by Ryan Day. He lost four frames to two to Day in the first round of the European Tour event.

Five-time world champion Ronnie O’Sullivan saw off 15-year-old Lu Haotian 4-3 in his first UK outing since his Crucible triumph in Sheffield last May.

O’Sullivan, nicknamed the ‘Rocket’, confirmed he will return to the Crucible next year looking to win his third world crown in succession. The popular Londoner also plans on competing in the UK Championship and the Masters as part of his schedule.
