David Hoggart says Sunday’s Premier League Riders’ Championship at Sheffield was ‘massive success’.
A good crowd witnessed some entertaining racing at Owlerton and Hoggart said: “It was a very good meeting and I congratulate Olly Allen of Rye House on his success. Once again it underlines what a fine venue Sheffield is for speedway and it was nice to see people enjoying themselves which hasn’t happened too much in the last couple of seasons. Neil Machin and I feel very proud to have staged this meeting.”
Co-promoter Hoggart has also praised the help of loyal backroom staff. He said: “Neil has always taken great pride from loyalty with his staff at Sheffield and this was evident on Sunday. Speedway events don’t run themselves, there are key personnel and we appreciate their hard work. We now have just one more major event to run, and that’s the Elite League Riders’ Championship at Swindon (October 19.)
Tigers bring the season curtain down against Scunthorpe this Thursday in their re-arranged Retro Cup tie. The meeting will be staged over the old 13-heat format with a race to decide the rider of the night award.
