Peter Mole is urging Sheffield to stay positive in the remaining weeks of the season.
And the Tigers co-promoter is keen to lay down a challenge to the team to show how much they want to be back with the club next season.
Injuries have ruined the first season under new management at Owlerton – but Mole insists he and co-promoter Damien Bates are far from happy with some performances from team members.
And with plenty of meetings ahead throughout September, Mole says the opportunity is there for riders to put themselves in the frame for 2015.
He said: “There is no doubt injuries have ruined what we were hoping was going to be a good season but there is nothing we can do about that now.
“We have an opportunity here for the riders to show how much they want to be back at Sheffield next season. It’s fair to say there have been some poor performances but it’s not my style to single out riders.
“We still have a lot of meetings to get in between now and the deadline and that means the lads have a chance to show us they want to be back at Sheffield.
“We have a tough meeting against Workington at Owlerton tomorrow and then we go to Edinburgh on Friday. It’s tough, but I’m sure we will see an improvement from the boys.”
