Josh Auty makes a welcome a return to Sheffield colours tonight when they head to Rye House.

Auty comes in for injured skipper Simon Stead in the No.1 spot as they look to bounce back from Thursday’s home defeat by the Rockets.

Local youngster James Sarjeant has also been booked to deputise for injured reserve Damien Koppe and Joe Haines will have a late fitness test.

Boss David Hoggart said: “We are delighted to welcome Josh back to the team even if it’s for just the one night.

“He was a good rider for us during his spell as a Sheffield rider and he’s making good progress in his career with Birmingham in the Elite League.

He’s a master of the Rye House track and was only too pleased to accept the opportunity to deputise for Steady.

“It was a major disappointment to lose at home on Thursday, we simply threw too many points away and it wasn’t acceptable.

“But on the positive side I was delighted to see Adam Roynon hit double figures. He was aggressive, he had the old fire back in his belly and he looked like the rider we know he’s capable of being.

“I also thought James Sarjeant was good value and deserved five or six points for his efforts. He’s got something to offer the sport and I’m convinced he can enjoy a good career.

“We are waiting on Joe and will give him every opportunity to make his decision after he was hurt in a training accident.”

Sheffield are on second in a double header with Rye House v Glasgow starting at 6pm. Adult admission is £20 for both matches but if Sheffield fans only want to see their match normal admission prices will apply at the end of the first meeting.

Tigers: Josh Auty, Joe Haines, Ricky Wells, Richard Hall, Adam Roynon, James Sarjeant, Facundo Albin.
