Sheffield Hatters displayed an increased level of team chemistry at the weekend as they beat Manchester Mystics 89-45.
The Hatters were quick out of the traps to establish an early lead, and that proved to be the story of the game as four players registered double-digit points tallies.
Helen Naylor and Naomi Campbell once ahead led the way with 21 points each, and Stephanie Gandy contributed 18.
Kisha Lee finished with a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Tatianna Thomas provided six assists, with Naylor adding five. Mystics star Amy Browne top scored for her side, with 15 points.
The Mystics were never in real danger of overhauling the Hatters’ lead, and at one point the Sheffield side were 44 points ahead of their Manchester rivals.
Coach Vanessa Ellis was keen to ensure her side kept an up-tempo style, however, and is still keen to ensure that her side display more communication in defence.
Hatters’ next test comes on Saturday, when they travel to Barking Abbey (4pm).
Hatters players Thomas and Maria Sanchez-Gonzalez, meanwhile, are helping out at three Satellite clubs, held at Ecclesfield, Tapton and All Saints schools for children of the respective areas. Contact email@example.com or call 0114 2467356 for details.
