Forward Mike Duco has left Sheffield Steelers, the club have announced.
The 28 year old Canadian arrived in Sheffield in June and played a part in Steelers' summer Champions League adventure.
'The Duke' scored twice on his regular season debut, went on to miss three games with a hand injury after a brawl and has scored only one goal and two assists in his last nine games.
He was left out of the victory over Cardiff Devils on Wednesday and on having to make that call, coach Paul Thompson said: "It’s not an easy thing to do, when you have got to leave somebody out - we wouldn’t have had to if Tyler Mosienko hadn’t have had that ban - we’d have switched things around, but he’s celebrating with the boys (after their midweek win) and that shows great team spirit.”
A short statement on Steelers website said: "The club wishes to go on record in thanking Mike for his time as a Steeler and wishes him all the best moving forward."
