Jonny Marray, who reached the last eight of the US Open this week with Colin Fleming, is still awaiting his Davis Cup fate after being left out of the initial Great Britain line up for next week’s tie in Croatia.
Hallamshire-based Marray, aged 32, said: “I’m not sure what the situation is with the Davis Cup. I will find out over the next few days.”
Marray and Fleming were a key part of Britain’s win over Russia earlier this year, which has made the tie with Croatia and eliminator for a place in next year’s World Group.
At Flushing Meadows the duo won their first three rounds before losing against No 1 seeds Bob and Mike Bryan in the early hours of Tuesday.
Whether Marray makes the flight for the Stadion Stella Maris, in Umag, Croatia or not, he’ll be travelling soon with several tournaments in the Far East as part of the next leg of the ATP Tour season.
