Hope Valley returned to competitive rugby to complete the double over Sedgley Park with a comprehensive 44-7 victory.
Ironically it was the visitors who put the first points on the board via a converted try but Jay McGuigan notched two penalties to close the gap to a single point at half time.
Hope ran riot in the second half. Unconverted tries from Ryder and Russell set them on their way and McGuigan then added the extras to his own try and Gladstone’s first of the season. Skipper Hodgson then touched down and Johnson finished off the scoring when he burst over, both being converted by McGuigan.
Valley, who remain at the top of Division 4 East, travel to Aldwinians Thirds on Saturday.
Man of the Match Thomas Elliott scored a hat-trick of tries in Hope Valley Hawks’ 50-7 demolition of Cresswell Seconds.
Other tries came from Charmasson 2, prop Jonny Elliott, Shires and Lee Orton while skipper Turner kicked five conversions.
