Martyn Moxon has warned Yorkshire they must iron out their inconsistencies if they are to avoid falling by the wayside in the NatWest T20 Blast for yet another summer.
The Vikings have won three and lost four of their seven North Division matches ahead of tomorrow’s visit to Grace Road to tackle Leicestershire Foxes.
Director of cricket Moxon has seen his county reach only one of 12 Finals Days since the competition’s inception in 2003 - they were beaten finalists by Hampshire in 2012.
It is a record which does not sit right with the Headingley hierarchy, who are desperate for success to help put bums on seats.
Moxon said: “We are inconsistent, no doubt.
“We have got to try to get a settled team and get some consistency into our play, which we haven’t had yet. We have got to do it pretty quickly because we can’t afford too many more losses.
“I can’t really put my finger on it, other than we have had to chop and change the team for various reasons.
“Twenty20 is big on knowing your role and having that consistency - ‘this is what I do, I bat at three or five’.”
Australian Aaron Finch has be declared fit.
