Here are ten things you can do today.
1 Bugsy Malone, by Razzmatazz Community Youth Musical Theatre Company, Penistone Paramount Theatre, 7.15pm (£8.50/ £7, matinee £6, (01226 767532).

2 Jazz in the Gardens, starting with Impressions, the quintet featuring Karen Lake on vocals, Pete
Lyons sax, Jez Matthews piano, Rich Keates double bass and Brian Bestall drums followed the Dizzy Club in full swing, charity night organised by the Rotary Club of Sheffield, Botanical Gardens, 7pm, gates open 6.30pm (£5, on gate £7.50, bring something comfortable to sit on and food and drink which is also available on site).

3 Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, the sub-heroes are back for another animated adventure in which Scrat finds romance with the arrival of a female squirrel called Scratte and Sid the sloth in trouble when he hijacks some dinosaur eggs (Cert PG, Odeon, Cineworlds Sheffield and Chesterfield, Vue preview)

4 Astrantias and other Cottage Garden Plants, talk by Bob Taylor to the Hardy Plant Society (South Pennine Group), Shirley House, Psalter Lane (next to St Andrews Church corner of Cherry Tree Road), 7.30pm (visitors welcome

5 White Crane Silat-Indonesian Martial Art-Self Defence, everyone welcome, The Institute, Hartley Street, Heeley, 7-9pm ( first session free, 2890181 jacqui@silatpgbuk.fsnet.co.uk).

6 Friends of the Botanical Gardens, volunteer working days, Sheffield Botanical Gardens, Clarkhouse Road, 10am.

7 Sequence Dancing, Norton House Country Club, 9pm (guests £1, members free).

8 Rivelin Folk Club, the Holly Bush, Hollins Lane, Lower Rivelin Valley, 8.30pm, www.rivelinfolkclub.org.uk.

9 Airburst / Wino's / The Winding Sheet / Major Major, Redhouse, Solly Street.

10 An Evening of Mediumship with Tony Stockwell, Memorial Hall, 7.30pm (£18.50).
