UNLIKE Graham Norton's quest to find his West End stars, when Reach for the Stage Musical Theatre School auditioned for principal roles in their production of Oliver!
They couldn't decide between some of the cast and so have double cast the parts of Nancy, Oliver and Dodger.
Mathew Hills and Charlotte Norminton Colk share the role of Oliver with Isabel Laycock and Sophie Whitfield alternating the role of Nancy and Brandon Woodcock and Mitchell Vernalls playing Dodger in Reach for the Stage's production of Oliver! which will be on in the Montgomery Theatre tonight and Saturday as part of the Sheffield Children's Festival.
Reach for the Stage is a children's musical theatre company based in Sheffield offering workshops to build skills in music, dance and drama focused around a production. This year's production of Oliver! is being directed by Jo Beadle, and will be performed by a group of 40 young people aged between 8 and 16 years.
For some of the cast this will be their first time on stage whilst some of the older members trod the boards before when the company did Bugsy Malone at the Crucible Theatre.
Anna Vickers one of the company directors, says: "The group have come together once more with an enthusiasm and commitment to put on a show, which will be second to none".
