The three pupils from the Bailey Cox Dance Academy in Sheffield will be treading the boards with Northern Ballet Theatre when they present their classic adaptation of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet, at the Lyceum Theatre.
Harriet Bland, age 5, Juliana Berry, age 6, and Paddy Brown, age 4, have been invited to play children of Verona, caught in the crossfire between the warring Capulet and Montague families.
Harriet is a pupil at Sheffield High School, Juliana is a pupil at Nether Green Infant School and Paddy attends Eccelsall Pre School.
Daniel de Andrade, NBT's Ballet Master, said:
"At NBT we are committed to providing opportunities for young people in dance and have invited children from local dance schools to participate in our performances.
"It is important to Romeo & Juliet to involve young people, as children are essential to the development of the story and they help to develop realism in the street and party scenes. I hope the children's experience with us will encourage their continued interest in dance."
The show runs from Tuesday May 6 – Saturday May 10 at the Lyceum Theatre.
