Sheffield's own international expert on Asperger Syndrome, Professor Digby Tantam, will speak at a conference to celebrate the high quality of the region's services for people with Asperger Syndrome.
Sheffield Hallam University is hosting the conference with Sheffield Care Trust and the University of Sheffield. Titled 'Asperger Syndrome: Moving Forward Together', the conference takes place on Monday June 30, 9.30am-4.30pm.
There will also be a
variety of stalls that will showcase examples of innovative professional practice within the region.
Dr. Nick Hodge, from Sheffield Hallam's Autism Centre, said:
"I am delighted that we are hosting this conference, which celebrates the achievements and abilities of people with Asperger Syndrome. We are fortunate to have someone with Professor Tantam's knowledge and experience as a keynote speaker.
"It is really exciting to be working in a city that is helping to lead the way in enabling people with Asperger Syndrome to achieve their goals. The conference has attracted lots of support from people with Asperger Syndrome, their families and professionals."
