Businesses are busy getting on 'board' for DLA Piper's Monopoly money spinning challenge, which rolls its way onto to the streets of Sheffield next month.
Companies can cash in and take part in the huge 'DLA dollar' raising event, which banked more than £11,000 for charity last year - all in the name of the Master Cutler Challenge. This year, it will be supporting Sheffield's Children's Hospital.
Businesses to have signed up so far include PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Pinders, South Yorkshire Police, Sheffield International Venues and Lloyds Banking Group, with entrants once again pounding the streets of the life-size monopoly board in a two-hour time limit on a mission to collect as much Monopoly money as possible, using only public transport and people power.
The global legal practice earned the 'most innovative' gong for the game at last year's Master Cutler's Challenge awards night, and organisers say this year's event is set to be the best yet.
Richard Norman, organiser, and partner in DLA Piper's litigation and regulatory group, said: "This is still the only challenge of its kind in our city and we are delighted to be supporting the Sheffield's Children's Hospital this year.
Click on the green audio button to hear Norman explain the game"We hope everyone who enters has as much fun as last year and although it has been a tough six months for the corporate world, regardless of our troubles we can still feel better about giving something back to people worse off than ourselves, for a more than worthy cause."
A prize ceremony, buffet and complimentary drinks reception will take place after the challenge and entry costs £500 per team of five.
The DLA Piper Monopoly Challenge will take place on Wednesday July 1 from 6pm. For more information or to enter contact Sally Chappell at DLA Piper on 0114 283 3433.
