With home made cakes and biscuits students from the University of Sheffield will this week raise money for awareness of the cancer that took their friend.
Louise Gwyther died from ovarian cancer in August 2006. Just months before, in March the same year, she and her housemates organised a cake sale to raise money for the Eve Appeal, a charity funding research into gynaecological cancer.

In memory of their friend Luise's housemates have decided to continue the tradition. Monday-Thursday this week they are selling home made cakes and biscuits outside the Students' Union building to raise money for the Eve Appeal.

Eleanor Rudge, fourth year medical student at the University of Sheffield and former house mate of Louise, said:

"Two years ago we we raised just over £3000, anywhere near that would be amazing."

Tomorrow, Tuesday, the Lord Mayor of Sheffield is set to attend the fundraising event. The students are also hoping for a visit by the Vice-Chancellor of the University.
