Industry head for the agency team at Google, Andrew Barke, this week advised entrepreneurs in Sheffield what opportunities the internet can offer.
Andrew Barke, who has been working on the internet for the last eight years, was invited to the city by Sheffield Technology Parks to share his insight into 'How to Make the Most of the Internet'.
"It's fantastic to see somewhere like Sheffield Technology Parks really helping small businesses," said Barke.
"That's something we have in common with them, the fact that we work with more small businesses than any other company in the world. And what Sheffield Technology Parks are doing is working with a smaller number but they are working in a quite confide, local, area, so they are putting a lot of money and revenue back into the local economy, which is fantastic for Sheffield."
Karen Wood, Sheffield Technology Parks' Business Incubation Manager, said:
"We are very pleased indeed that Andrew has agreed to speak at our latest event for young and growing businesses.
"There is no doubt at all that online trade is critical to any business success in the 21st century, and Google have been at the forefront of the development of that market.
"Once again it goes to the heart of what Sheffield Technology Parks is about – delivering the best possible support for the dynamic young businesses of the city in ways that deliver real impact and genuine growth."
