Loxley Silver Band is celebrating 125 years.

It was formed by Loxley Methodist Church as an alternative to drinking.

After starting in a barn, the band rehearsed in the church until the building was sold recently.

Now it rehearses twice a week in Stanwood Methodist Church, Wisewood, with ages ranging from ten-year-olds in the training band to stalwart Derek Gardner, who is in his 80s, and membership reflecting a cross section of society.
